Located in the Geriş area of Yalıkavak, Pera Yalıkavak is a boutique residential development composed of private villas oriented towards the Bodrum coastline and sea views. In 2019, Macro Architecture developed the architectural and interior design together with the landscape approach for residences whose structural shells had already been completed. The existing building envelopes were retained while the interior programme and the relationship between the houses, gardens, terraces and pools were reconsidered as part of a single design strategy.
The reverse-duplex layout separates the arrival and bedroom level from the main living spaces below. Bedrooms, bathrooms, a generous entrance hall and vertical circulation occupy the upper level, while the lower floor brings together the principal bedroom and dressing area with the kitchen, dining space and double-height living area, opening directly onto the garden, timber deck and swimming pool. The changing site levels and views across Yalıkavak became key parameters in determining the orientation of the interiors and their relationship with the outdoor spaces.
The design was developed beyond finishes and furniture selection. Daylight, views, the Bodrum climate and indoor-outdoor continuity were considered together, with gardens and terraces treated as extensions of the living areas. The landscape approach responded to the regional climate and natural character, while solar control, energy-generation strategies and smart-home technologies were explored as part of the design proposal.
Bodrum Pera Yalıkavak Residences reflects Macro Architecture’s approach to developing an existing residential shell through the coordinated design of interior programme, landscape and outdoor living.
